Having spent much of my time travelling I have enjoyed the privilege of witnessing many different weddings from many different cultures. Here where I presently live the wedding ceremony is very different from a UK wedding ceremony but no less so interesting.

Weddings have been on the British mind of late with the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. It amazes me just how interested other countries are with a Royal British wedding, all the Thai’s were just as interested as the British. The wedding fireworks were a particularly big hit here in Asia as they love a good firework display. There is always something special about each wedding I have ever attended and with the help of many fine wines being drunk all guests seem to enjoy themselves.

Having never got married myself I was unsure as to quite what the term ‘wedding favours’ meant. It didn’t take too much research however to find out that the term is used to describe the gifts which are given by the bride and groom to the guests at the wedding ceremony. These days’ the sort of wedding favours are quite different from the original gifts many years ago where they would give ornate boxes filled with sugar.
